China Travel Diary: Day 7

Hello everyone. I am glad that I finally got my wifi back, which means that I am finally able to write through my laptop. I had been writing through my phone, and it was very inconvenient. So here it is! The 2nd day of my trip in Beijing!

It was a very cold day. It was -2 degrees in the morning. I don't post so much photos in this post because I could barely move during that day. I was not able to took off my gloves and took picture. I know I am able to took it with my gloves on, but my gloves was too thick and slippery, and taking off the gloves would mean that I am torturing myself with the cold. I also don't really take much photos of myself there, because, well... It was so cold that my whole body feel numb, especially my nose, and I could not even feel that there were unstoppable snots coming out of my nose. lol. My nose also turns red, like a Rudolph. So all of you must promise me that you will not laugh when seeing my face in this post, okay?

Our first stop was Summer Palace. Down below is the photo of Seventeen-Arch Bridge. As the name implies, it has seventeen symmetrical arches, with largest one in the centre and others diminishing in the other eight side.  This bridge is the only connection to the Nanhu Island. If seen from a distance, this bridge and the island itself looks like a tortoise stretching its neck. A tortoise is a symbol of longevity in Chinese culture. It was said that if you walked through this bridge, you will have a long life. So my family and I walked through the bridge together.

See the lake? Yes, it is freezing.
From the Summer Palace, we went to Tian an men and the Forbidden City. These are famous monument in Beijing and definitely a must-visit one. Tian an men ( 天安門) is often referred to as a Gate of Heavenly Peace.

Where is my face?

From the photo above, I am sure that you could image how strongly the wind blew, and it makes me feel colder.

Just need to cross the road and there it is, Tian an men!

We took an entrance from Tian an men to the Forbidden city.

Forbidden city was the imperial palace  for twenty four emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is the home of emperors and their household as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government. It is called as 'Forbidden City' because it was forbidden to enter without special permission of the emperor.

This forbidden city is rectangular in shape, and has thousands room of the emperor's family. Unfortunately, we didn't stroll the place fully, because we could not bear the coldness, so we decided to went out instead.

This is all of the children in the group. We all look like a fugitives, right? lol
This was the only destinations we had on our second day in Beijing, and it was tiring enough. We went to have dinner and went back to hotel to rest ourselves, because we need more stamina for the next day's trip, which is the Great Wall! So wait for my next updates of my Travel Diary, okay?

See you later!

A Touristy Stroll

No longer a tourist, but this touristy spot is simply irresistible. I am pretty sure everyone knows where this is. Yep, the famous Haji Lane in Singapore. Absolutely the must-go-to spot for our fellow instagrammers whenever they visit Singapore. Whether you just love street photography or fashion ootd shot, this picturesque alley surrounded with quirky stores, bars, and restaurant is not something to be missed, right? As for me, its quite a struggle to take my outfit shot here. Came around 5 p.m. in the afternoon, and there were a lot of people wanting to take some shots as well. Need to be quick and brisk in order to get this quite-empty background. Well, thanks to @deahamdan . Had a meet up with her at Bugis that day, then she accompanied me to Haji Lane and helped me to take a quick ootd shot. It was raining in the morning till afternoon, but luckily, the rain stopped when we wanted to go there!  Just a little story, last week, I turned 17. Well, its supposed ...

2017 - Recap.

The fact that January is going to end soon still leaves me in a shock. Time flies that fast, huh? I feel so bad that I haven't make a new year post or a 2017 recap post kinda thing like what most people do. I have been busy catching up with life and especially, uni. Well, what an excuse. However, I would like to thank 2017 for being a very very great year for me. In 2017, I said yes to many many many things. I learned to make important decisions, and especially, I learned how stand alone and solve things with my own feet. I learned that life can somehow be ruthless, but with a strong heart and positive mind, you can conquer it and good things will come to you. I learned that not everyone will like you, and it doesn't matter. How you love yourself and the way you treat yourself is all that matters. In 2017, I made plenty of friends. Sure, I lost some friends during my journey, but again, it doesn't matter. I also volunteered to many new outreach activities, beco...
