China Travel Diary: Day 8

So on my second day in Beijing, we went to the Great Wall of China. Great Wall of China is definitely a must-visit place when you are in Beijing, right? It is full of tourist, and you must experience climbing this enormous wall at least once. It was fun, I swear, even during winter! I was so enthusiastic in climbing this wall that I kept on walking and climbing the steep stairs until my breath was heavy. lol.  I even sweat while I was climbing the wall despite the cold temperature (it was -2 degree that time)  I climbed four towers with my other tour mates. I gave up on the fourth tower because I was super tired and I couldn't hold it anymore lol. My breath was still fast, heavy and irregular. So I went back and they climbed another two towers. So they climbed six towers in total. Right from the Great Wall, we went to the Olympic stadium. It is the National Stadium of Beijing. The stadium looks like a bird's nest, th...

China Travel Diary: Day 7

Hello everyone. I am glad that I finally got my wifi back, which means that I am finally able to write through my laptop. I had been writing through my phone, and it was very inconvenient. So here it is! The 2nd day of my trip in Beijing!  It was a very cold day. It was -2 degrees in the morning. I don't post so much photos in this post because I could barely move during that day. I was not able to took off my gloves and took picture. I know I am able to took it with my gloves on, but my gloves was too thick and slippery, and taking off the gloves would mean that I am torturing myself with the cold. I also don't really take much photos of myself there, because, well... It was so cold that my whole body feel numb, especially my nose, and I could not even feel that there were unstoppable snots coming out of my nose. lol. My nose also turns red, like a Rudolph. So all of you must promise me that you will not laugh when seeing my face in thi...

China Travel Diary: Day 6

So Hello everyone. I am going to continue my Travel Diary now. Hope you guys enjoy <3 On the 6th day, we were heading to Beijing from Wuxi by bullet train. It takes approximately 8 hours if I am not mistaken. It would be much more faster by plane, but going with plane is less desirable during winter because of the constant delay due to bad weather.  We woke up early that day so we were able to reach Beijing earlier and visit some of our destinations. We had lunch in the train (there is a canteen at the train), but it was not appetising for me. Perhaps because I was super tired for having lack of sleep.  After we arrived at the station in Beijing, we had a super long journey. Firstly, the escalator was not functioning, so we had to carry our heavy luggage all the way down the stairs (exercise in the morning, eh?). I tried to help my parents and was hit by someone carrying their heavy luggage from the back. My luggage fell down but luckily I'm saved. Secondly, the walk from t...

China Travel Diary: Day 5

Finally I am back from the long hiatus. First of all, I would like to apologise for the 1 month hiatus. Have been so busy with school, exams and national examinations lately. Yesterday was my last day of school and I am feeling so relaxed now! No more stress :D  So, this is the continuation of my winter holiday to China.  So, on the day 5 of our journey, we were in Su Zhou. Su Zhou is know for its beautiful ladies, they said. But sadly I didn't find any pretty ladies there. Lol.  In Su zhou, we went to visit Tiger hill. The hill is named as Tiger hill because it looks like a crouching tiger.  It has several features and I will only tell you some here (since I didn't take all of its photos)  See the cutting in the rock? It is believed that it was cut into two pieces by a legendary sword with extraordinary sharpness  This is a spring of simplicity and honesty. It is a well (I only capture this spring sign, didn't take a photo of the well, sorry) in which, acc...

China Travel Diary: Day 4

So in that day, we started exploring Hang zhou. Hang zhou is a beautiful city in the capital of Zhejiang province. The city's West Lake is its best-known attraction.  We started our day by going to the West Lake (in chinese: 西湖,xī hú), which is a freshwater lake in Hangzhou. Numerous temples, pagodas, gardens, and artificial islands are found within the lake. This lake was made as a UNESCO heritage sites in 2011. I took a boat, to stroll around the lake The view from my boat From the lake, we went to the Yue Fei temple which is located near the lake. This temple was built in honour of Yue Fei, a general of the Southern Song Dynasty who fought against the Jurchen Jin Dynasty during the Jin-song wars.  Me in front of the statue of Yue Fei  This is the statues of Lady Wang and Qin hui  And this is the statues of Moqi Xie and Zhang Jun. This is the Kneeling Iron statues. So basically, there was a long history for this incident. A novel about this incident, titled Do...
